Free Living

Bees are living in a chimney stack in the space around the flue pipe 8 metres above ground for two years now. There are also honey bees in one of the soffits as well as bumble bees on the other side of the house roof.

We offered a painter a bee hood, so he could paint the soffit, but on a cool day it was not required.

The vicar who lives in the house is delighted to have bees in the garden, and the bees are so high up they pose no nuuisance. I have offered to collect any swarms that land in the garden.
