Found! The nest I searched for all last summer has been located. It's only a few feet from a hiking path and where I spotted a large swarm last year, but because the nest is over 40 feet high and faces away from the trail, I needed a warm Spring day when the forest had not yet filled with leaves to allow me to find this active nest.
